This summer, Château Léoville Poyferré became musical by welcoming the “Estivales de Musique en Médoc”. On Thursday 4th July, the voice of mezzo-soprano Sophokazi Molteno, recently crowned BBC Singer of the World 2023, accompanied by the notes of pianist Hervé N’Kaoua resounded in the large reception room above the château’s cellars.
The magic continued with a tasting of the estate’s wines, eagerly awaited by a large and enthusiastic audience to taste the 2017 Château Léoville Poyferré.
More than just a concert, Les Estivales de Musique en Médoc is a moment of collective celebration. For 18 years, this festival, the only one of its kind in Europe, has been presenting new generations of virtuosos, all winners of major international competitions, in such prestigious settings as the châteaux of the Médoc. In these inspiring places, rich in history and passion, music is expressed freely, in perfect harmony with the love of the vine and the quest for excellence.
