Château Léoville Poyferré embarked on an historic voyage. Accompanied by 74 other Grands Crus Classés, our wine crossed the Mediterranean, stopping off in Cannes, Olbia, Catania, Olympia and Athens. For 12 days, to the rhythm of the waves and in the company of the Paris 2024 Olympic flame, this prestigious cellar was elevated until it arrived in Marseille, where the bottles were unloaded.
At the end of the voyage, one bottle from each lot returned to the donor château, while the other two were auctioned off on the Drouot.com website. Proceeds from the sale were going to the Fondation Belem Caisse d’Epargne, which is dedicated to maintaining the Belem. For Château Léoville Poyferré, it was the 2014 vintage that took pride of place, an exquisite, complete and refined Saint-Julien!
